The funeral Mass for Charles C. Ackerman, 80, Gore, will be 2 PM Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Webbers Falls. Father Jeff Polasek will officiate. A rosary service will be 7 PM today in Millsap Chapel, Webbers Falls.

Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Vian. Arrangements are by Millsap Funeral Service, Webbers falls.

He was born August 13, 1924, in Morris, to Charlie Carlos and Millie Mae Morgan Ackerman and died Friday, June 3, 2005, in Norman.

He attended schools at Morris and Liberty. He served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946.

He married Ruth Bach September 28, 1946, in Okmulgee area he retired as regional manager of Borden Dairy in Enid and had lived in Gore since 1980. He served as Fire Chief of Rural Fire Protection District 1 in Sequoyah County for 10 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathie Gordon of Del city; two sons, Jim Ackerman of Gore and Jay Ackerman of Enid; one sister, Betty Pierce of Del City; nine grandchildren; and 11 great – grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, a son, and two sisters.
