Graveside services for Robert Gribble, 96, of Ada, will be held at Vamoosa Cemetery on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 2:00 P.M., Rev. Brian Matthews will officiate.

Mr. Gribble passed away on January 27, 2020. Robert was born July 4, 1923 in Eldorado, OK to Robert and Beulah Gribble. He graduated from Eldorado High School and attended Altus Junior College. He joined the US Navy in 1943 and served during World War II in the Pacific theatre as a gunners mate.

He married Bernice Harrison of Maud, OK on May 19, 1956. Two sons, Richard and David, and one daughter, Sharon, was born. He was of the Methodist faith. He worked managing a meat market that he learned from working in his father’s grocery store while growing up, and then managed a Singer Sewing Machine Store in Norman, OK. In 1959 he started a State Farm Insurance Agency in Altus, OK retiring after 20 years. He loved to fish especially in south Texas in the Arroy bay, and was an avid gardener. He owned and operated a lawn service in Ada for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife Bernice of 63 years; sons, Richard Gribble and wife Medina of Clarendon, TX, David Gribble and wife Selita of Altus, OK; daughter, Sharon Kelley and husband J.D. of Little Rock, AR; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Catherine, Meghan, Nathan, Kassie, Melissa and Stephen; and seven great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beulah Gribble; brother’s Fred and Frank; and a sister Dorothy.
