Lennis O. Luginbill, 83, was born February 3, 1934, on the family farm 6 miles north of Jet, Oklahoma to Estella and Fred Luginbill. He departed this life on February 22, 2017 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital after a two-week battle with pneumonia and heart complications.

Lennis was one of three brothers born to the Luginbill's. Lennis was raised mostly around Burlington by his Aunt Amy and Uncle Charlie after his mother passed away when he was a year old. He later returned to Jet with his father and graduated from Jet High School. Lennis worked at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas when he was drafted and served during the Korean Conflict. He returned home and married Sandra Jane Van Osdol on February 25, 1961. Lennis became employed by the Bureau of Reclamation, which resulted in living throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, and New Mexico building lakes for water. He moved to Antlers with the Bureau to complete the McGee Creek Dam and retired upon its completion.

Lennis was a man who loved the Lord and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He loved and honored his wife Sandra for 51 years, never leaving her side for her eight-year battle with cancer, holding her hand and kissing her on her last breath. He was the father and grandfather every child should have. He was always there to love you through your mistakes and accomplishments.

Lennis is preceded in death by the love of his life Sandra, his parents Estella and Fred Luginbill, and his Aunt Amy and Uncle Charlie.

He is survived by his loving daughter Julie Luginbill Darras and husband Herb of Ada, devoted son Melvin Luginbill and wife Karla of Antlers, the joy of his life grandchildren Michael Barnes and wife Krystal, Kaylen "Tootles" Luginbill, Raysen Luginbill, and adopted granddaughter Bailey Rose Perry. He is also survived by extended grandchildren Jennifer and Randy Parks and their three children Preston, Rowdy, and Macy. He is survived by two brothers Leonard Luginbill and Bill Luginbill of Enid Oklahoma, nephews Phillip Jay Luginbill and Sean Lossing, and one niece Jimmy Ruth Lossing. Finally, he is survived by his constant companion Sadie the pup.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Jay Luginbill, Scotty Fuller, Kenneth Brantley, James Ray Griffith, Trae Harris, and Jimmy Morehead.

Services will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Antlers at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend David Mingus and Brent Franks officiating. Interment will follow at Antlers City Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers.
