BONNIE LEA MUNDAY
1905 - 2008


Shawnee resident Bonnie Lea Cornett Munday, 79, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in Shawnee.
She was born November 4, 1928 in Sedan, Kansas to Robert S. and Murl Ball Cornett.
She was born in Kansas and was raised in Sulphur. She lived there until after her marriage, when she moved to Shawnee, and has lived there since.
She attended the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur.
On February 27, 1947, she married Troy McCellan Munday in Shawnee. He preceded her in death in November 1992.
She worked for many years at Benton's Cafe. She also worked for Parkview Nursing Home, Colonial Nursing Home and the Aldridge Cafe.
She was a member of the Evangelistic Center Church in Shawnee. She loved to socialize, go visiting, play dominoes and do crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert Charles Munday; two brothers, Herman Gilmore and Troy Cornett and a sister, Wilma Reavis Bazemore.
Survivors include son, Wayne Munday of Tecumseh; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Joy and Gary McCray of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Bonnie Pelate of Shawnee, Grant McCray of Shawnee, Latricia Munday of Azores, Portugal and Lucas McCray of Midwest City; great-grandchildren, Ivy McCray, Lillian McCray, Savanna McCray and Bria Pelate; three brothers, Charlie Cornett, Roy Cornett and Robert Cornett, all of Avant, Oklahoma and sister, Maybell Gibson of Avant.
Service will be 10:00 a.m. today at the Evangelistic Center Church with Pastor Mark McIntosh officiating.
Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
