Gertie Louise (Watson) Brunkest

March 31, 1924 ~ April 4, 2000

Gertie Louise Watson Brunkest of Livermore, California died Tuesday in Stockton, California. She was 76.

Mrs. Brunkest was born March 31, 1924, in Shawnee to Bart and Ella Wood Watson.

She attended school at Centerpointe and Bethel and was a 1942 graduate of Bethel High School.

She lived in Modesto, California most of her life, moving to Livermore in 1992.

She was a retired district manager for Montgomery Ward and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Harris and Pam Poco, both of Livermore; sisters, Addie Smith, Shawnee; Kozelhua Young, Tecumseh; brothers, Harold Watson, Ivory Watson and Jackie Watson, all of Tecumseh; three grandchildren, Debbie Lohs, Scott Wilkerson and Chenoah Shell and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Oma Arms, Ruth Williams and Dovie Thomas; and three brothers, Frank Watson, Wayne Watson and Raymond Watson.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Quick officiating.

Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
