Mildred K. Milford Ashley, 96, died Sunday April 24, 2011 at home in Norman after a lengthy illness. Private family graveside service will be held. Millie was born in Kingman County, KS to Harry Michael Milford and Norma Mae Phillips Milford. She graduated from Kingman High School in 1928; graduated from Draughn Business College in 1932 and worked in various businesses as a secretary throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Norman and a member of Willard-Beeson CWF. She was an accomplished seamstress, was active in several bridge clubs, book club, garden club and loved ballroom dancing. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Analee Ashley of the home; niece Sherry Peterson of Santa Barbara, CA; and nephews Jim Milford of Houston, TX, Mark Milford of Kingman, KS and Tim Milford of Wichita, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, O. V. Ashley in 1962; and her brother, William Milford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P O Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.

Visitation will be held 8:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 with the family greeting friends from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery, 1400 N. Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com.
