Herbert Larry Holton passed from this life to the next, Saturday, December 26, 2020. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Jewell Holton. Also his brother, Robert Holton.

Herb was born April 29, 1939, in Dublin, Georgia. He joined the Navy on July 15, 1957 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Chief Petty Officer on October 1, 1976.

He and his wife, Patricia, and their four daughters settled in Tecumseh following his service in the Navy. They settled and built a home next to her parents, Jack and Ann Martin.

Herb spent the next 27 years working at a magnetics manufacturer in Shawnee. He retired from Allen Bradley-TDK in 2003.

Herb was a dedicated veteran and continued his life of service in Navy Mars and as a HAM radio operator, relaying communications from our service men to their families.

Herb was also a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and assisted with the Eastern Star. In later years, he dutifully served as a member of the CPN Honor Guard, and was a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, of the home, and his four daughters. Laure Holton of Oklahoma City, Leslie Martin, and her husband Randy, of Shawnee, Tawana Holton of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Tera Holton of St. Louis, Missouri. Herb is also survived by seven grandchildren, Chase, Martin, Andrew Veach, also Paige, Jackson and Luke Lechtenberg, and Gabriella and Caroline Gombas.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Always at the ready to be of service to anyone, he will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery with Deacon David Schrupp, St. Benedicts Catholic Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
