Services for Tommy Ray Vass, 75, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Vass passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at a Shawnee hospital. He was born October 3, 1941 in Seminole to Thurman D and Lela P. Wood Vass. He graduated from Shawnee High School.

He married Lanie Carol Shipman February 13, 1961 in Shawnee. Mr. Vass was employed with Sun Oil Company as a mechanic until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home; a daughter, Janie Snyder and her husband Ronnie of Ada; a son, Tommy R. Vass, Jr. and his wife Joni of Ada; his mother, Lela Vass of Seminole; four grandchildren, Ronnie D. Snyder of Ada, Trevin Vass and wife Anna of Ada, Summer Synder of Ada and Taran Williams and husband Jake of Stonewall; three great-grandchildren, Brennan Snyder, Kaidence Jones and Camron Snyder; one brother, Jerry Vass and wife Rhonda of Paden; one sister, Judy Smith of Seminole; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Vass and a brother, Charles Vass.

Bearers will be Ronnie Snyder, Trevin Vass, Jake Williams and Wade Evans. Honorary bearers will be The Who So Ever Will Sunday School Class.
