Colene Robertson was born February 24, 1935 at “Shag Town” Ada, Ok to M. E. and Dorchie Booth. She passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at her home in Oil Center. Colene graduated from Vanoss High School and attended East Central University. She married her lifelong sweetheart, B. J. Robertson on October 30, 1954. They were married at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Ada, by the Rev. Arthur Smith. Mrs. Robertson worked at the old Corner Drug and Valley View Hospital. Colene and B.J. established their home in the Oil Center Community where she lived until her death.

Colene was a devoted housewife and mother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She spent hundreds of hours following her daughter, Tammy as she barrel raced and later her great niece. Her job was always to keep the times and rate the bathrooms and concession stand. Later she followed Stacy as he played baseball in school. It was hard for her, but she learned not to coach from the stands.

Colene’s family was her greatest joy. She had a small extended family but she was especially close to her granddaughters, her great niece and in later years to her Great-Great nieces Kya and Piper.

One of Colene’s cherished activities was her involvement in the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church where she faithfully attended with her family until her death. Her faith and love of the church was a great joy to her. She took up the role of “faith encourager” after the loss of her mother.

Her favorite past time was shopping, especially the sale racks. Colene was so unselfish that her entire family benefitted from her shopping trips.

Colene was the light of her family’s life and her passing will leave a large hole in their lives. Those left behind are her husband, B.J.; Her daughter, Tammy Wainscott and husband Billy Don of Sacramento, California, her son, Stacy Robertson, Ada. Her two precious granddaughter, LaShayana Robertson, Oklahoma City, and Brecca Robertson, Norman; her sister and best friend Alene Tucker, Ada; nieces Paula Tucker, Kingston and Tonya Willoughby and husband Paul, Ada, great nieces Rindy Bacon, Ada, Nakia Rhodes, Ada and a great nephew Chad Tucker, Kingston, great great nieces ShiAnn Tucker, Kingston, Kya Rhodes Ada, Piper Tucker Kingston, and 2 great great nephews Brad Tucker and Colton Tucker, Kingston. Her aunt Lola Hale, Dallas, Texas, and a very special friend Ruthie Gray. She was preceded in death by her parents.
