Carol Eugene "Buddy" Brents

Services for Carol Eugene “Buddy” Brents, 99, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family invites friends to a viewing on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Mr. Brents passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at a local hospital. He was born March 30, 1923 at Horseshoe Ranch near Fitzhugh, OK to William Harrison and Edna Jackson Brents. He attended school at Fitzhugh.

Carol was proud to have served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and participated in the liberation of the Philippine Islands.

During his working career he was a heavy equipment operator in the oilfield and later a truck driver for Ada Block Co.

Buddy married Alice Caroline Schuessler, September 12, 1953 in Sulphur.

He was always ready for good food, especially sweets. Buddy loved Alice’s chocolate cake. He had breakfast for many years at J.D.’s café and later at the Aldridge Café. He waved at fellow patrons for many years. He also had a passion for old westerns, especially Gunsmoke and Wagon Train.

Survivors are his two sons, Frank Brents, of Bellaire, TX and Bruce Brents and wife Cindy, of Ada; two grandsons, Brad and wife Gayle, of Yukon, OK and Todd and wife Joyce, of Boiling Springs, SC; two granddaughters, Sarah, of Ada and Elizabeth Sienicki and husband Elliott, of Gainsville, VA; four great grandsons and six great granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Carroll Brents; four brothers, John Brents, Jack Brents, Woodrow Brents and Buster Brents; four sisters Willie Underhill, Lorena Thompson, Lilly Goodwin and Ruby McCause.

Bearers are Charles Knighten, Joel Mayhan, Rusty Hopper, Ruger Iverson, Bart Donaghey, Scott Poe and Mike Mitchell.
