William Chester "Budrow" Griffin

Services for William Chester “Budrow” Griffin, Sr., 68, of Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Stonewall First Baptist Church, Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Griffin died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born January 9, 1947 at Kings County, California to Alvis Erwin and Mary Loretta McKee Griffin. He received an Associate’s Degree in the Electrical Program from Okmulgee Tech in Muskogee.

He married Ruth Ellen Craig October 31, 1966. She preceded him in death January 13, 2014. Mr. Griffin was an electrician at East Central University in Ada and had served in the U. S. Navy. Survivors include his two sons, William Griffin, Jr. and wife Rashnah, Largo, FL and Craig Griffin and Marlis Osborne, Stonewall; three grandchildren, Courtney Reneé Griffin, Roff, Kendra Ruth Griffin, Stonewall and William Griffin, III, Largo, FL; a brother, Walter Alvis Griffin and wife Patricia, Stonewall; three sisters, Marie Mello, Hanford, CA, Rosie Griffin, Walters and Peggy Pearson and husband Jack, Hack Creek, CA; nephews, Terry Barnes, Lumberton, TX, Eddie Barnes, Waco, TX and Ronnie Barnes, Houston, TX; and other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Kenneth Joe Griffin.

Bearers will be Ronnie Barnes, Eddie Barnes, Terry Barnes, Robert Griffin, Eddie Nolen, Billy Ward, and Don Thompson. Honorary bearers will be Joe Davis and Curtis Whittington.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of Pontotoc County, c/o Sharon Croy – Citizens Bank of Ada, 123 West 12th, Ada, OK 74820.
