Services for Kathy Jean Prentice, 68, Allen, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, Allen. Robert Hammonds will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the Allen Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.

Ms. Prentice died Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Ada, OK. She was born December 19, 1953 in Ada, Oklahoma to Gene Lee and Lorene Colbert Prentice. She lived most of her life in the Allen area and graduated from Allen High School.

Growing up Kathy lived in Corpus Christi, Texas and traveled with her parents and brother to Africa and lived four years while her father built a refinery. During that time of travel, she was able to visit Holland, Rome, Switzerland and many other beautiful places. They returned to Allen when she was a sophomore in high school. Kathy loved her family, friends, and her dog, Lillie.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Parks, of Ada; three grandchildren, Preston Brown, Allen, Rowdy Parks, Ada, and Macy Parks, Ada; one brother, Brad Prentice and his wife Debbie, Allen; two nieces, Amber Parnell and her husband Jeff and Brooke Baber and her husband Caleb; one nephew, Derek Prentice and his wife Heather, all of Allen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Lorene Prentice; grandparents, Allie and Homer Prentice and Joshua and Dora Colbert.

Bearers will be Preston Brown, Rowdy Parks, David Wallace, Randy Parks, John Cundiff and Chuck Wofford. Honorary bearers are Derek Prentice, Caleb Baber and Jeff Parnell.
