Deloris Ann (Johnson) Lovelady

Our beloved Deloris was born October 11, 1941 in Caney, Oklahoma to Albert ‘Snooks’ and Opal Johnson. She passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She married Waylon Lovelady in August of 1957 and was the mother of two children, Debra Deloris and Steven Michael Lovelady.

Deloris devoted her life to caring for her family. She was especially instrumental in the development of her special needs son, Steven.

Deloris was an avid church worker who ran bus routes and taught Sunday School, GA’s, Children’s Church and Vacation Bible School for many years. She could always be counted on to open her home and prepare delicious meals for church functions, family and friends.

Deloris was preceded in death by her father, Albert Johnson; mother, Opal Johnson; husband Waylon Lovelady; daughter, Debra Lovelady and brother, Marland Johnson.

She is survived by her son, Steven Lovelady, Del City, OK; sister, Joy Nickell, Allen, OK; sister, Margie Bunge, Guthrie, OK; sister-In-Law, Pat Johnson, Ada, OK and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Freewill Baptist Church, 200 S. Richmond, Allen, OK under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie. Interment will follow at Allen Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 N. 1st, Guthrie, OK.
