Mary Lee Taylor, 89, of McAlester, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart, Oklahoma. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandson, Jon, Jamie, Joshua, Jase and Jaylen Fink, Ryan and Kyle Taylor, Hunter Edmonds, Justin Taylor, James Youngblood and Jakoby Youngblood and her favorite son-in-law, Daryl Clifton. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Burk, Roy Walker, Jerrell Kight, Troy Kight and Gary Mabray. Mary was born on July 3, 1934 in Roff, Oklahoma to JD and Ina (Farmer) Kight. She married Robert Lee Taylor on February 18, 1952 in Fresno, California. She worked for McAlester Regional Health Center and retired after 28 years of service. She loved her grandbabies and great-grandbabies, and was a member of the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include her children and spouses, Ronnie and Brenda Taylor of Bakersfield, CA, Vicki and Daryl Clifton of Tannehill, OK, Raymond and Karen Taylor of Scipio, OK and Judy Taylor of the home; daughter-in-law, Sheila Taylor; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sammy and Billie Kight of De Queen, AR, Horace and Barbara Kight of Lockesburg, AR; sisters, Mildred Matthews of Harrison, AR and Mozell Staggs of Harrison, AR; sister-in-law, Connie Kight of Bartlesville, OK. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Taylor in 2020; son, Richard Taylor; parents, JD and Ina Kight and brothers, Floyd Kight and Dennis Kight.
