Cheryl Lynn (Bennett) Kelley, of Stuart, died Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the McAlester Regional Health Center. Cheryl will be lying-in-state from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Bishop Chapel of Memories. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Stuart Church of Christ with Chris Rampey officiating. The burial will follow at Pryor Cemetery, Stuart, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Sterling Taylor, Donald Stacey, Jared Macchirella, Rick Chaney, Jonathan Felda, and Joel Kerns. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Kelley and Scott Campbell. Cheryl was born on February 14, 1951 in Holdenville, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of William Herbert and Orvilla "Blondie" (Sweetin) Bennett. She married the love of her life, Hershel E. Kelley on August 24, 1967 in McAlester. Cheryl was a licensed cosmetologist, a paralegal, worked as a reserve deputy for Pittsburg and Hughes counties, and also as a security guard for the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. She was a member of the Stuart Church of Christ. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Cheryl's greatest joy was spending time with her family, who will remember her for her unwavering love and support. She was preceded in death by her husband: Hershel Kelley; her parents: William Herbert and Orvilla "Blondie" (Sweetin) Bennett; her great-grandchild: Sydney Westbrook; and brothers: W.H. Bennett, Jr., James L. Bennett, Wayne Bennett, Jack Heathcock, Gene Heathcock, Sr., and Joe Bennett. Cheryl is survived by her three children: Bridget Kelley-Short and husband Frankie of McAlester, Cody Kelley and wife, Cassie of McAlester, and Coleby Kelley and wife, Amanda of the home; her grandchildren: Colten, Kelsey, Maelee, Jordan, Luke, Kyra, Kylan, Connor, Hunter, and Ace; her great-grandchildren: Austyn, Rainin, Isabella, Renley, Silas, Trinity, Asher, Silvanna, Atti, and Charlie; great-great grandchildren: Leila, and Aaron; her brothers and sisters: Harry Bennett of McAlester, Ancil Bennett of McAlester, Jerry McDonald of Stuart, and Paula Bennett and Steve Carter of Holdenville; her sister-in-Christ: Pam Campbell of Calvin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all her family and friends.
