Jessie Arlene Grant, 96, long-time resident of McAlester, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Arlene will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Arlene was born on August 26, 1924 in Colony, Kansas to Lewis Franklin Speece and Roxie Inez (Mullies) Speece. She graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant and also for Dr. John Cotton at the Clinic. She enjoyed travelling, especially kayaking in Alaska and girl-trips to Mexico. She was a member of the Victory Park Baptist Church and worked many hours in their Soup Kitchen. She is survived by two children: Linda Hutchens of Muskogee, and Vicki Stevens of Apple Valley, California; a granddaughter: Stephanie Blevins of Muskogee; four great grandchildren: Olivia Wallace, Melinda Grant, Tristian Blevins, and Johnathan Blevins; a special niece and travelling buddy: Prue Tremain of Gilbert, Arizona; along with other nieces, nephews and family and friends. Arlene is preceded in death by her husbands: Melvin Imboden and Wayne Grant; son: Larry Imboden; daughter: Jean Ann Irving; grandson: Brad Hutchens; great granddaughter: Emily Blevins; and sisters and brothers: Ada, Lewis, Lucille, Willie, Ruby, Della, and Floyd Speece.
