Frances Theo Wooten, 82, of McAlester, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the McAlester Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Rodney Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Steven Disilvestro, Tommy Martin, Bubba Stingerie, Ryan Larue, Bryson Baker and Seth Grant. Frances was born on July 8, 1941 in Collinwood, Tennessee to Kenneth and Lorene (Hollis) Skillern. She married Don Wooten on December 24, 1969 in Florence, Alabama. She enjoyed raising birds and Pomeranians, gardening, baking and pottery. She was a member of First Baptist Church in McAlester. Survivors include her children and spouses, Brian Wooten of McAlester, OK and daughter-in-law, Amanda Williams of McAlester; Hugh and Rosie Wooten of Canadian, OK, Donna Ray of McAlester, OK; Donita and Orbie Ray of Collinwood, TN, Donald Jr. and Jerri Wooten of Collinwood, TN, Susan Pope and Joe Beckham of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Briley, Starr, Brandon, Rachelle, Ryan, Jessica and Matthew, Gavin, Cody; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Wooten; daughter, Leann Dunlap; parents, Kenneth and Lorene Skillern; grandson, Douglas Wooten; brother, Ted Skillern; and brother-in-law, Jerry Benedict.
