Imogene Wilson, 92, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Oklahoma City, where she had been living for the past few years. Viewing will be Sunday from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home, with Rev. Chip Lott officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Bruce Temple, Buddy Len Lacey, Buddy Lacey, Trey Cotton, Ryan Bowden, and Jimmy Bowden. Imogene Wilson was born on June 10, 1931 in Ashland to James Payton "Pate" Barringer and Etta Hazel (Hogue) Barringer. She grew up in the Ashland and Peaceable area and has lived in this area all her life. She was married to Lake Ed Wilson, Jr. on December 16, 1950, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2012. Imogene started her banking career with the First National Bank of McAlester, then moved The Bank, NA until her retirement. Imogene's hobbies included doing crochet and cross-stitch in which she paid great attention to small details. She and her husband, Lake, also enjoyed going fishing together over the years. Imogene was a member of the Victory Park Baptist Church. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, James Peyton and Etta Barringer; her husband, Lake Wilson; a son, Ron Wilson; sisters, Cornelia, Doris, Irene, and Jewel; and brothers, Floyd, William, J. D. and Earl.
