David Lee Reynolds, 80 of McAlester died Thursday June 29, 2023 in Tulsa. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2023 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Entombment will follow. Pallbearers will be, Michael Ellis, Ian Grimes, Aaron Tarver, Ryan Gragg, Ricky Gragg, Jr. Jessie Olds and Jay Gragg. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Heath Stanfield, Mike Flood and all of his oilfield friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org. David Lee was born to Art and Jewel Mae (Patterson) Reynolds on June 7, 1943 in Stigler. He graduated from Hartshorne High School. David married Frances R. Freeman on February 14, 1963. David worked in the oil fields all of his life. He worked as a drilling superintendent for Anadarko Petroleum and continued working after retirement as an oil field consultant. He enjoyed hunting, trail riding, his horses, mules and dogs. He also enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke. His children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He loved to watch the grandchildren playing in the pasture. David thrived on the exchange of stories and ideas with his friends at the coffee shop; he will be missed but not forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Jewel Reynolds; his wife, Frances Reynolds in 1990; grandchildren, Eric Tarver, Brent Ellis and Rick Gibson; and sister, Dorothy Reynolds. David is survived by his daughter, Kay Tarver of McAlester; son, Jerry Gragg and wife, Teresa of Antlers; daughters, Sue Sweetin and husband, Sammy of Blanco, Pat Honaker and husband Mike of Greensboro, North Carolina; son, Ricky Gragg, Sr. and wife, Cattrina of McAlester; grandchildren, Aaron Tarver and family, Kaylee Stanfield and husband, Heath, Jay Gragg and family, Lori Gibson and family, Melissa Hatcher and family, Michael Ellis and family, Ian Grimes and family, Rachel Maines and family, Frances Jarrell and family, Amber Hall and family, Ricky Gragg, Jr. and family, Ryan Gragg and family, Stephanie Winesburg and family, Kayla Houston and family; sister, Delilah Levendusky; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Holt and Norma Sitters; numerous grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and oilfield friends.
