David Lee Deputy, 72, of McAlester, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Wilburton. Viewing will be Wednesday, June 14, until 8:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, with Chaplain Jeff Little officiating. David Lee Deputy was born on April 7, 1951 in Anadarko, Okla. to John Deputy and Lorine (Dorsey) Deputy. His family came to McAlester when he was 5 years old and he grew up here and has lived all his life here. David married Helen Ann Beasley on Jan. 28, 1972, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 2018. David worked at Statewide Communications as a Communication Specialist; then delivered the McAlester News Capital and the Tulsa World, before going to work at Wendy's until retiring. David is survived by 2 daughters, Elveda Deputy and Carrie Deputy; a sister, Pat Butler and husband Neil. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Gabriel Deputy, and his parents.
