John Wesley Tripp, 72, of Indianola, died Friday, July 22, 2022 in Tulsa. Viewing will be 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Indianola Cemetery Pavilion officiated by Rev. Brent Jarrett. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Tracy Choate, Steve Tripp, Wade Tripp, Anthony Pierson, Michael J. Bennett, and Chris Herrin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Weeks, Leroy McClaughrey, Joe Bennett, Aaron Wesley Tripp, Todd Tripp, Donnie Proe, Earl Rodgers, Arnold Hamilton, Bill Murdaugh, Jeremy Tripp, and Kevin Marlow. John Wesley was born to John Wesley and Nancy Fay (Hance) Tripp on December 31, 1949 in Indianola. He was raised in Indianola and attended Indianola school. Wesley married Ann Louise Mitchell on November 15, 1968 in McAlester. He worked at several jobs including the Dr. Pepper plant, oil fields, and most recently as a cattle puncher for the McAlester Stockyards. Wesley enjoyed hunting and fishing, attending auctions, and loved horses and his beloved mule, "Blue Bell." He had attended the Canadian Shores Free Will Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents: John Wesley and Nancy Fay Tripp, brother: Vual Ray Tripp, and sister: Donna M. Smith. Wesley is survived by his wife: Ann of the home; daughters: Cricket Bennett and husband, Joe of Indianola, Angela Herrin and husband, Chris of Krebs; son: Todd Tripp and wife, Tammy of Indianola; grandchildren: Taylor Pierson and husband, Anthony, Rebecca Tripp, Aaron Tripp, Elby Tripp, Billy Fry; great-grandchildren: Tinlee, Kooper, Neaveh, Bentley, Cameron; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Bonnie Beck, Patricia Carney; brothers: Benny Tripp and wife, Rhonda, Lynn Tripp, Michael Tripp, Steve Tripp and wife, Tamara; sisters-in-law: Connie House and husband, James, Debbie Horton and husband, Robert; best friend: Donnie Proe; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
