Brett Todd Travis was born on July 9, 1966 to Wayne and Doris (Harris) Travis of Indianola. He passed from this life on February 5, 2022. He was 55 years old. The family will greet visitors on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Home. Brett's life celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Stan Farrar, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow at Indianola Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Commer, Al House, David Clemons, Aaron Hargrove, Dustin Parsons, and Trenton Parsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy King, Joe Whitehouse, Danny Travis, and Brett's brothers-in-law: Vestal Hutchens, Jay Brigance, Larry Hargrove, Bill Mabry, and Archie Hutchens. Brett was an auto technician by trade. He worked at several auto shops and dealerships. He also worked 3 years teaching an auto class at Kiamichi Tech in McAlester. Brett married the love of his life Claudia Hutchens, formally of Waldron, Arkansas, on November 1, 1991. They enjoyed 30 wonderful years of marriage. He has 2 children: daughter, Amanda and son, Austin. Brett loved 4 things in life: God, family, metal detecting, and old cars. Anyone who knew Brett knew he could talk for hours about metal detecting or old cars. Brett leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife: Claudia; daughter: Amanda; son: Austin, all of the home; brother: Dwight Travis and wife, Susan of Brentwood, California, Ron Walker and wife, Dixie of Claremore, Paul Walker of Tulsa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Brett was preceded in death by his parents: Wayne and Doris Travis; and brothers: Clarence "CR" Travis, Ellis Travis, and Richard Walker.
