Linda Reon, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at Indianola Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Casey, Josh Reid, Kyle Lovett, Lance Lovett, Connor Lovett, and Austin Lovett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillon Reid, and Bobby Hicks. Born on January 1, 1956, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Linda's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to her work, and her commitment to her faith. Linda was a proud graduate of McAlester High School, Class of 1974. After high school, she furthered her education at Eastern Oklahoma State College. On May 2, 1981, Linda married the love of her life, Steve Reon. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Casey and Ashly. Linda also embraced her step-daughter, Stephanie, as part of her family. Linda was a doting grandmother to Kayden, Kylah, Gage, and Kinsly. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve Reon; daughters: Casey Wilcox of McAlester, and Ashly Reon and partner, Bobby Hicks of McAlester; step-daughter, Stephanie Mattice and her husband, Russell of California; her grandchildren: Kayden Blackman, Kylah Blackman, Gage Wilcox, and Kinsly Sims; her sisters, Debbie Nelson and her husband, Kenny of Longtown, and Sandy Reid of Indianola; her brother, Greg Casey and his wife, Angie of McAlester; and several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Doris (Holman) Casey and Cecil Casey; her grandson, Kolten Blackman; and her sister, Sheila Lovett. A woman of faith, Linda was a regular attendee of Life Church. Her faith was an integral part of her life, providing her with strength and guidance. Linda’s legacy of love, dedication, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those she left behind. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
