Emily Louise Turman, 23, of Hartshorne, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Oklahoma City. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Sunday, Dec. 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester, with Pastor Terry Sensibaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Pallbearers are Plunket Turman, Russell Turman, Taylor Kellogg, Kevin Osborne, Cody Hugle, and Spencer Blocks. Emily Turman was born on March 19, 2000, in McAlester to Russell Keith Turman and Susan Frances (Schiller) Turman. She grew up in Hartshorne and graduated from Haileyville High School, then attended Eastern State College in Wilburton. While in high school she was involved in vo-ag and showed pigs in the junior stock shows. She also enjoyed doing crafts. Emily loved kids and found real joy in her work as a day care teacher, first at Kiddin Around Academy, then at Lil Miners Learning Center in Hartshorne. Emily is survived by her parents, Rusty and Susan Turman; brothers, Plunkett Turman and Erica, and Russell Turman; a niece, Brexleigh Hackler; a special cousin, Stryklyn Caldwell; a very special friend, Chan "Granny Graves" Graves; and several aunts and uncles, including Denise Kellogg, Pam Burch, Gerald Schiller, and Charlie Schiller. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Matt and Ethel Turman, and Plunkett and Fernon Schiller; and an uncle, Rodney Kellogg.
