Patricia Lorene Coon, a loving and gentle soul, passed away peacefully at her home in McAlester, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the age of 63. Born on April 6, 1960, in McAlester, Patricia was a lifelong resident of the town she loved and where she raised her family. Patricia was the daughter of R G and Lorene Phillips. She was a cherished sister, aunt, and great aunt, known for her selfless nature and the love she had for her family. On October 6, 1992, she married the love of her life, Robert Coon, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her world, and she was theirs. She is survived by her husband, Robert Coon, and their son, Jace Coon, both of McAlester. Patricia's legacy also lives on in her siblings, Jimmy Phillips and his wife, Linda, Robert Phillips and his wife, Robbie, Billy Phillips, LaVerne Youngblood and her husband, Earl, R J Phillips and his wife, Jackie, David Phillips and his wife, Donna, and sister-in-law, Cindy Phillips. Patricia's love extended to her grandchildren, Neriah Branam, Bryce Wilcox, Louis Heath, and Deja Mulane, and her great-grandchildren, Delilah Wilcox, Isabella Mulane, and Frayadean Mulane. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, R G and Lorene Phillips, her daughter, Candice Heath, granddaughter, Tia Coon, sisters, Judy Philips and Margaret Frankum, brothers, Ronald Phillips and Richard Phillips, father-in-law, Walter Coon, Jr, nephew, Bobby Phillips, and niece, Melissa Phillips. Patricia's life was marked by her gentle spirit and her selfless love for others. She was a beacon of light in her family, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her kindness and compassion were evident in everything she did, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A graveside service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Arpelar Cemetery Pavilion, with Mr. Newman Crowl officiating. Burial will follow the service. Viewing will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Home. Patricia Lorene Coon's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her selfless love, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
