Charlotte Jean Tarkington, 73, passed away on March 12, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 18, 2015 in the Strode Chapel.

She was born Feb. 2, 1942 in Tulsa, OK to Kenneth Eugene Brock and Helen Charlotte (Rolin) Brock.

She attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1959.

She married Kendle Tarkington on May 8, 1960 at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa.

They made their home in Stillwater. She worked as an Off-set printer operator in Stillwater, Oklahoma City, Boston, MA, and Brookfield, CT. While in CT she opened a Frame Shop called Frame It Yourself. In 1978 they moved to Springfield, IL where she again went back to Off-set operator at Lincoln Land Jr. College. In 1982 they moved backed to Stillwater where she worked at OSU as a secretary. In 1984 she went to work at the Oklahoma Dept. of Vocational and Technical Education as Format Specialist in the CIMC Division until she retired in 2003.

Charlotte was a talented Artist and Singer. She painted and made many craft items.

While in CT. she was a member and sang with Sweet Adelines and traveled all over New England with the group.

In 2012 she and Kendle moved to Oak Harbor, WA. to be close to their son and daughter-in-law.

She was preceded in death by son Daniel Kenneth Tarkington and both parents.

She is survived by her hubsand of the home son David Kendle Tarkington ll and wife Judy, sister-in-law Margie Hensley (Fred), two granddaughters Vicci Hine (Henry) of North Haven CT. Tami Medthurst (Mike) of Greely CO. grandson Patrick Nordgren of Knoxville TN. 10 great grandchildren.

Charlotte had no siblings growing up she adopted 3 ladies as sisters Dianna Jacobs, Lois Sharpton, And Peggy Turner.
