Verna L. Newberry, Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 68 years.
The daughter of the late Claude Hodgson and June Pearl Lowrey, Verna was born on January 7, 1941 in Shawnee, where she was also reared and educated.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Murrell; two sons, William Kent Hodgson and Don Vera Newberry; three grandchildren, Jerry Murrell, Christy Oyler and Tim Murrell; eight great-grandchildren, Adam, Alec & Austin Oyler, Devon & Blake Murrell and Shyla, Dean & Kloe Murrell; one brother, Chuck Hodgson; two sisters, Lena May Glenn and Cladet Hensley and other relatives and friends.
No services will be held at this time.
