Barbara Jean Martin Cummings, longtime Cushing resident, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 21, 2006 at her residence at the age of 72 years.

The daughter of the late Kenneth Camblin and Edith Beard Camblin, Barbara was born on Oct. 17, 1933 in Oilton, OK and was reared and educated in Oilton, graduating from Oilton High School.

She was united in marriage to John R. Martin on June 30, 1951 in Oilton and to this union, two sons, Kenny and Gary were born. The couple came to Cushing in 1955, where they owned and operated the Martin Tank Truck and Casing Pulling Company until February of 1989. John preceded her in death on June 12, 1989.

She was united in marriage to Tom Cummings on July 28, 1994 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Barbara was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and for several years taught Sunday School Class; she had served as Den Mother for the Boy Scouts; had served on various committees of the Youth Center; had volunteered with the Hospital Mobile Meals; was a member of the Hypatia Club; she loved china painting, traveling and photography.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Cummings of the home; two sons, Kenny Martin and his wife Kama, Gary Martin and his wife Carmen of Cushing; step-children, Steven Cummings and Chad Cummings and his wife Kim of Kellyville, and Mandy Franks and her husband Jim of Bartlesville; grandchildren, Camblin Martin, Clinton Martin, Christal Martin, Eric Martin, Ashlee Martin and Rachel Martin; step-grandchildren, Malachi Cummings, Skylar Cummings, Marlon Cummings, Kennedy Franks, Mckenzie Franks and Brook Franks and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 2 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church with reverend Ted Uhlig, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
