Greta Losey, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at her residence at the age of 86 years.

The daughter of the late Albert Simon O’Dell and Nancy Jane Horsley O’Dell, Greta was born on May 24, 1924 in Hallett, OK and was reared and educated in Cushing.

She was united in marriage to Harrison Payne who was killed in the service. She was later united in marriage to Jesse F. Losey, and was married for over 34 years.

Greta was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She enjoyed cooking, fishing, crocheting, hunting, dancing, playing the piano, camping and bowling.

She had worked for the Cushing Regional Hospital as a cook for many years.

Greta was also a Breast Cancer Survivor since 1983.

Survivors include one son, Harrison David “Butch” Payne and his wife Sue of Alex, OK; three daughters, Joyce Ilene Baker and her husband Bill, Charlene Clariscia “Lesa” Kleckner and her husband Farrel and Peggy Lynn Retherford and her husband Billy, all of Cushing; two brothers, Grover O’Dell and his wife Pam of Bartlesville and Pete O’Dell and his wife Jeanie of Barnsdall; four sisters, Lucille Ward and Romana Godsey and her husband Bob of Cushing, Evelyn Farhbach and her husband Wayne of Texas and Shirley Moad of Guthrie; 10 grandchildren, Denise Rodgers and her husband Warren, Kimberley Brooks and her husband Chris, Jesse Baker and his wife Dayna, Gina Scott and her husband Mike, Linda Newman and her husband Erik, Harley Kleckner and his wife Michelle, David Payne and his wife Tammy, Jay Payne and his wife Beka, Roni Farris and her husband David and Dean Retherford and his wife Andie; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends, including a special friend, Leonard Cooper.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Greta was preceded in death by 7 brothers, Henry, Jack, Strict, Albert, Harold, Lindy and David and three sisters, Ila, Deloris and Mary.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Brother George Brock, III officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Viewing will be held at the funeral home only, and the casket will not be opened at the church.
