Mickey W. Hodo, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 72 years.

The son of the late Homer Hodo and Melva Reed Hodo, Mickey was born on April 23, 1938 in Fort Worth, TX.

He came to Cushing as a small child, and was raised and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School.

Following high school, he entered the United States Air Force, serving his Country from July of 1956 until July of 1960.

He was united in marriage to Earnestine Goodwin on June 1, 1956 and to this union two children, Terry and Michelle were born.

Mickey had worked for Kerr McGee for many years prior to his retirement, working in the nuclear material management part of the company.

He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church; he loved working the puzzle games of all kinds, especially sudoku.

Survivors include his wife of over 54 years, Earnestine of the home; one son Terry Hodo of Broken Arrow; one daughter Michelle Winkelman and her husband Donald of Newark, Ohio; one brother Leroy Clark and his wife Kay of Farmers Branch, TX; one sister Linda Morton and her husband Danny of Mesquite, TX; one grandson Zebadiah Winkelman; two brothers-in-law, Howard Goodwin and his wife Cathy of North Carolina and Chuck Goodwin and his wife Colleen of California; a special aunt who will turn 110 on the 24 of this month, Ora Holland of Tulsa; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Murray, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church memorial fund in his memory.
