Leona Mae Hall, lifelong Cushing resident, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 81 years.

The daughter of the late Leo Sherrod and Genevieve Kinkaid Sherrod, Leona was born on August 26, 1924 in Cushing and was reared and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School in 1942.

Following high school she attended the Cheatham Business College in Oklahoma City and over the years had worked for several different businesses in bookkeeping/secretarial work, and had worked as a sales clerk for Confetti Cards and Gifts for over 13 years prior to her retirement.

She was married to her high school sweetheart, Gerald Hall on July 22, 1947 in Sherman, TX and to this union three sons, Larry, David and Bill were born.

Leona was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where she attended the Adult II Sunday School Class.

She enjoyed shopping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Her great laugh and happiness will be missed forever.

She is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Gerald of the home; three sons, Larry Hall, David Hall and his wife Vickie and Bill Hall; seven grandchildren, Chuck Hall and his wife Theresa, Natalie Hall, Seth Hall, Matt Hall, Joshalyn Ocker and her husband Mike, Sheli Thomas and her husband Trey and Michelle Paden and her husband Justin; nine great-grandchildren, Xzavier Hall, Bryce Ocker and his wife Laci, Sarah, Abby, Sydnee, Sherrod, Elly and Selah Ocker and Riley Thomas; one great-great-grandson, Hayden Ocker; one brother, Frank Sherrod and his wife Eletha; one niece Jamie Sherrod; one nephew Steve Sherrod; one cousin, Maxine White and her husband Fred and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church with Doctor Lonny Lee officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Serving as casketbearers will be Bob Call, Cliff Miles, David Cargill, Earl Berger, Don Ethridge and Sid Shaw. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Rodger Floyd, Wilmer Smith and Oliver Kinzie.

Family will greet friends in the Davis Memorial Chapel on Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
