William "Alec" Grace

William “Alec”, Grace, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 79 years.

The son of the late William L. Grace and Martha Morgan Grace, Alec was born on May 19, 1927 in Drumright, OK and was reared and educated in the Drumright and Cushing area, graduating from Cushing High School.

He was united in marriage to Alice Thomas on July 1, 1950 in Cushing and to this union two children, Beverly and Charles were born. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2001.

Alec retired as a sales representative.

He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where he enjoyed all phases of the church; he enjoyed going to various activities at the Senior Citizen Center and for many years had volunteered to deliver meals.

Survivors include his children, Beverly Grace of Salt Lake City, Utah and Charles “Chuck” Grace of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Lela Chambers of West Sacramento, CA and Lula Martini of Glenolden, PA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Clarence and Fred Grace.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 10 A.M. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Lonny Lee, pastor, officiating. Christi Hickman, pianist, will provide the prelude and postlude and will accompany herself and Ralph Hickman as they sing “Amazing Grace”, I Serve A Risen Savior”, and “Because He Lives”.
