Wayne Russell Brown, longtime Carlsbad, New Mexico resident, passed away at his daughters residence in Cushing on Friday morning, March 27, 2009 at the age of 70 years.

The son of the late Jay Russell Brown and Verna Delia Pardue, Wayne was born on June 25, 1938 in Idaho.

He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Arizona and was in the process of receiving his MBA from New Mexico State University.

He was united in marriage to Maria Martinez on May 30, 1965 in Sonora, Mexico. To this union one daughter, Verna, was born.

Wayne enjoyed going for walks every day; loved computers; read often to keep up with technology and listening to 40’s music. He also had a strong passion for his dogs; he never met a dog he didn’t like.

Survivors include his wife of over 43 years, Maria, of the home; one daughter, Verna Cloud-Huckabay and her husband Don of Cushing; two granddaughters, Ashleigh Cloud and Paige Cloud; two bonus grandchildren, Erica Huckabay and Alan Huckabay; one brother, Luis Brown of Los Lunas, New Mexico and other relatives and friends.

A Rosary service will be held on Monday evening, March 30, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. in the Davis Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Matt LaChance, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
