Patsy L. Brewer, longtime Cushing resident, joined her beloved angels in heaven on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the age of 71 years, after a long battle with cancer.

The daughter of the late Ivan Holland and Edna Jackson Holland, Patsy was born on September 27, 1935 in Davenport, Oklahoma and was reared and educated in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School.

She was united in marriage to Bill Brewer on November 24, 1956 in Cushing and to this union two children, Denise and Bruce were born. Bill preceded her in death in November of 1983.

Patsy had owned and operated the “Body Toner” in Downtown Cushing for several years. She later worked for the Cushing Regional Hospital from which she retired in 1996.

She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed doing volunteer work there.

She also enjoyed painting, traveling, gardening and just hanging out with “The Girls”. Her cat “Pookie” and her bird “D.J.” were very much a big part of her life.

Surviving include one daughter, Denise Gordon of Seabrook, TX; two grandchildren, Amber Lynn Gordon and Joshua Jake Gordon, and many other friends and relatives including Clelly Evans, who for many years helped care for Patsy during her illness.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Bruce Brewer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2007 at 2 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ted Uhlig, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

A celebration of Patsy’s life, which was a very important request of hers, is scheduled for Thursday evening, January 16, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home.
