Janie EstaLee Barnard, Cushing resident since 1988, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2006 at her residence at the age of 85 years.

The daughter of the late Benjamin Jackson and Doshie Chapman Jackson, Janie was born on January 4, 1921 in Stephens County, OK, and was reared and educated in Anton, Texas.

She was united in marriage to Melvin Albert Barnard on December 25, 1937 in Anton, Texas and to this union three children, Sue, Farrell and Ronald were born. Melvin preceded her in death on October 30, 1990.

Janie was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

She enjoyed camping, writing poetry and songs, bowling and fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Sue Ballard and her husband Charles of Cushing; two sons, Farrell Barnard and his wife Nona of Chandler, TX and Ronald Barnard and his wife Charlotte of Springtown, TX; one sister, Ruth Mae Dalton of San Angelo, TX; one sister-in-law, Christine Jackson; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Jackson, Hubert Jackson and Ancil Jackson and two sisters, Eufaula Spradley and Pauline Ramage.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Eslinger officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
