Lillian Nina [Thompson] Cantrell
June 28, 1922 ~ September 10, 2006


Lillian Nina Cantrell passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 10, 2006 at her residence at the age of 84 years.

The daughter of the late Carl Thompson and Edna Burnham Thompson, Lillian was born on June 28, 1922 in Ripley and was reared and educated in the Ripley Schools, graduating from Ripley High School in 1939.

She was united in marriage to Marion C. Cantrell, Jr. on May 27, 1942 in Stillwater and to this union two daughters, Kay and Rose Mary were born. Marion preceded her in death in November of 1975.

Lillian was a member of the Church of the Brethren Church; she enjoyed reading, quilting working cross word puzzles and for many years had belonged to the Willing Workers Club.

Survivors include her children, Kay Exton and her husband Donald of Ripley and Rose Mary Barnish and her husband Mike of Casper, WY; one sister Lydia Shoemaker and her husband Everett of Cushing; four grandchildren, Brother Benet Steve Exton, O.S.B. of Shawnee, Donna Holderread and her husband Charles of Cushing, Anissa Fabrizio and her husband Tony of Thornton, CO and Melany Hill and her husband Tom of Fort Collins, CO; five great-great grandchildren, Robin Holderread, Jessica Holderread, Jesse Holderread, Ashton Hill and Brandon Fabrizio; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother Lloyd Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 at 10 A.M. in the Big Creek Church of The Brethren with Pastor John Holderread officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Ripley.
