Larry Lamont "Monty" Prock
04 Oct 1945 ~ 31 Jan 2015


LARRY LAMONT PROCK was born October 4, 1945 in Oakland, CA, the only son of Wayne and Evelyn Goff Prock.

He passed away Saturday, Januart 31st, in Oklahoma City.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Wright-Prock and Preston Prock of the home -- daughter Kelly Clymer and husband, Will, and granddaughters Hannah and Cloe, of Broomfield, Colorado, daughter Scarlett Gilkison and husband, Rob, and grandsons Tyler and Case, of Davenport, Oklahoma and Terra Rose Arnold and husband, Randy, with granddaughter Tessa, and grandson, Landon, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

He is also survived by his sister, Janie McPeak and husband, Larry, of Lancaster, CA, sister, Judy Adams and husband, Jim, of Brady, Texas, brother, Mike Arnold, Midland, TX, brother, Jerry Meadows and his wife, Belinda, Hot Springs, AR. Monty was raised with his cousins and knew them as his sisters, who are Jeanie Carden, of Weatherford, TX, Joyce Tuggle and husband Terry Tuggle of Belton, TX, and his aunt who raised him that he called "mother", Fern Prock of Weatherford, TX. Monty also adored his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Calvin and Anita Wright, and Brad and Julie Hawkins, and his father-in-law, Delbert Earl Wright of Cushing, OK.

He said many times that no one could be blessed with a more loving, supportive family. They felt that way about Monty, too.

Monty served in the United States Navy from 1963-1966 on the Westchester County LST during the Vietnam War.

He received a bachelor's degree in theatre arts from Oklahoma State University and a master"s degree in theatre arts from Oklahoma University. He traveled with many theatre circuits performing as an actor, owned his own photography business for a short time, and finished his career as a college professor. He taught for 24 years at Langston University in Langston, OK, and he taught speech/drama, radio/tv, and theatre arts coursework, retiring after the birth of his son in May 1999.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Prock and Evelyn Goff Prock; and a brother, Ron Jones, and his uncle who raised him, Ralph Prock.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for Preston Prock, Monty and Sally's son. You may send donations to the Bank of Cushing, c/o Prock Education Fund, P.O. Box 951, Cushing, OK 74023.

The Prock family will greet friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center.

Funeral services will be conducted in the First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. The body will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery in Yale.
