Bernard Eugene "Barney" Floyd
August 12, 1939 ~ April 11, 2008


Bernard E. "Barney" Floyd, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008, at his residence at the age of 68 years.

The son of the late Forrest E. Floyd and Rela Miller Floyd, Barney was born on August 12, 1939, in Denver, CO, moving to Cushing as a small child where he was reared and educated.

In 1960, he entered the United States Army, serving in Germany for three years prior to receiving his honorable discharge.

He was united in marriage to Malinda Boley on January 11, 1965, in Cushing.

Barney had worked for Dresser Industries for over 20 years and for Turner Tank for over 10 years prior to his retirement.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid O.U. football fan and would talk football with anybody that would talk football with him.

Survivors include his wife Malinda of the home; one son B. J. Floyd of Cushing; two brothers, Bennie and Timmy Floyd of Cushing; one sister Alberta Houston of Cushing; one granddaughter Kourtney L. Floyd; one grandson Jaden T. Floyd, and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 2 P.M. in the Greenwood Cemetery, southeast of Yale.

Alice Malinda Boley Floyd
May 17, 1946 ~ March 11, 2017


Alice Malinda Floyd, passed away on March 11, 2017 in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years.

She was born in Oregon County, Missouri, on May 17, 1946 to Mancil Wayne Boley and Anna Mayflower Nasalroad Boley. Alice was raised and educated in the Cushing and Yale area she was a Cushing Alumni and continued her education becoming a Certified Medical Assistant.

On January 11, 1965 she married Bernard Eugene Floyd in Cushing, Oklahoma and to this union one child was born.

Alice worked as a CMA for Colonial Plaza, Drumright Nursing Home and Linnwood Village. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and helping others.

She is survived by her son BJ Floyd of Cushing, two grandchildren, Kourtney and Jaden Floyd; two brothers William Boley of Cushing and Hubert Boley of Cushing, three sisters, Elloese and Bennie Floyd of Cushing, Dorothy and Terry Day of Cushing, Mary and Nathan Terry of Stroud. As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard.

Services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Yale with Pastor Kevin Clouse officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Judith Karman Hospice of Stillwater in her memory.
