Cushing resident Wanda “Wonnie” Rosetta Kinsey, age 82, died March 10, 2010 at Stillwater Medical Center.

Wanda was born in Okemah, Oklahoma August 8, 1927 to the late W.O. Kinsey and Marie Timmons Kinsey.

After her high school graduation she was employed as a caregiver in the Okemah area.

She moved to Cushing, Oklahoma in October of 1955.

After her arrival in Cushing, she joined the family of Dr. and Mrs. Clifford M. Bassett. She remained a trust and valued employee until the death of Phyllis Bassett in July of 2005.

She continued to live in the Bassett home until she became ill in August of 2009.

Wonnie leaves the Bassett Family as a valued family member, because she was family to them in the truest sense of the word. Wonnie unconditionally loved the Bassett family, especially the Bassett sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Dr. and Mrs. Clifford M. Bassett, and her brother, Don Kinsey of Okemah.

She is survived by Randy and Renee Bassett Willis of Stillwater, Ken and Betsy Bassett Hibbard of Cushing, Alan and Lisa Bassett Synar of Edmond, Jillian and Ryan Blakemore of Cushing, Andrea and Blake Palmer of Oklahoma City, Elena Willis and Valerie Willis of New York City, Lauren Synar of Norman, and Cliff Synar of Edmond. She leaves behind four sisters, Chris Klutts of Muskogee, Nancy Cunningham of Tulsa, Jean Parker of Oregon, Delphia Mellington of Okemah and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 10 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Ted Uhlig, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
