Juanita [Ryan] Gray

Juanita Ryan Gray, longtime Yale resident, died on Monday, May 1, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years.

The daughter of the late Grady Ryan and Thelma Williams Ryan, Juanita was born on September 30, 1923 in the Council Valley Community.

She was reared and educated in the Northfolk and Yale area, graduating from Yale High School.

Juanita received her Bachelor Degree from Central State and her Masters Degree from Durant. She taught school for 17 years, 14 of which were in the Yale elementary school system.

She was united in marriage to Forrest Lyle Gray on August 21, 1939 in Pawnee, OK and to this union three children, Jimmy, Duke and Forrest, Jr., were born. Forrest preceded her in death on September 6, 1998, after 59 years of marriage.

Juanita was a life long member of the Council Valley Advent Christian Church, where she was involved in youth and nursing home ministries.

She loved traveling, organizing and attending school and family reunions, researching genealogy, playing rook and dominos.

She is survived by two sons, Duke M. Gray and his wife Karen of Yale and Forrest Gray, Jr. and his wife Lou Ann of Bristow; one daughter-in-law, Joann Gray of Moore; six grandchildren, Mark Gray and his wife Twyla, Rick Gray and his wife Judy, Russell Gray, Angela Irvine and her husband Brian, Forrest Gray, III and his wife Amber and Cyndee Harness and her husband Justin; fourteen great-grandchildren, Michael Gray, Lacey Parsons, Casi Gray, Clint Maloy, Clayton Carroll, Rachael Carroll, William Irvine, Hunter Irvine, Forrest Holland Gray, Madison Gray, Claire Gray, Coleton, Jacob and Chloe Harness; 1 great-great-grandchild, Brookelyn Parsons; two brothers, Fred Ryan and his wife Clara of Yale and Jimmie Ryan and his wife Alice of Stillwater; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy K. Gray and one brother, Robert Ryan.

Services will be held Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Christian Church, 300 E. Moses in Cushing with Reverend Steve Tiger and Reverend Jerry Hutchings officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
