Joe Allen Boatman
June 25, 1942 ~ April 26, 2006


Joe Allen Boatman, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Wednesday evening, April 26, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 63 years.

The son of Rebecca “Becky” Lewis and the late Oscar Kelley Boatman, Joe was born on June 25, 1942 in Cushing and was reared and educated here.

Joe was united in marriage to Monty Grubb and to this union two children, Christina “Tina” and Gary Joe were born.

He had worked for Quapaw as a heavy equipment operator for over 30 years and following his retirement had cut and hauled wood for many people in this community.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and going to flea markets.

Survivors include his mother Becky Lewis of Cushing; one daughter, Tina Boatman; two sons, Gary Joe Boatman and Chip McClurg; three grandchildren; three brothers, Jackson Lewis and Larry Don Lewis of Cushing and Oscar Earl Boatman of CA; three sisters, Patsy Williams of Oklahoma City, Mary Mitchell of Pawnee and Marjorie Wright of Rose Hill, KS; one aunt, Juanita Jones of Drumright; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Minister Kyle Wright of the Tri-County Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Monty Rose [Grubb] Boatman
March 8, 1949 ~ May 21, 2013


Monty was born on March 8, 1949 in Cushing, OK to the late George Granville and Verna Mae [Williams] Grubb. She grew up in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 1967.

Monty was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Carroll Grubb, Frank Grubb, Gary Grubb, sisters Lois Scouten and Mildred Grubb.

Monty Rose Boatman, age 64 a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in Sand Springs. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 in the Tri-County Church of Christ in Cushing. Mr. Kyle Wright will officiate.

Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, OK.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.
