Lillian Bernice [McQueen] Beard
August 8, 1923 ~ October 8, 2007


Lillian Bernice Beard, 84, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007 in the Linwood Village Nursing Home.

The daughter of the late Warren McQueen and Bernice Hartley McQueen, Lillian was born on August 8, 1923 in Cushing, and was reared and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School in 1941.

She was married to Bill Hicks and to this union two children, Romelle and Michael were born. She later married Benny Beard and he has preceded her in death.

Lillian had worked for the Cushing Regional Hospital dietary department for over 20 years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church; was active with the Senior Citizen Center and she enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Romelle Seever and her husband Kenneth of Cushing; two grandchildren, Victoria Ramer and her husband Nathan of Shawnee, OK and Kendra Seever of Waukomis, OK; one great-grandson Joseph and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son Michael Hicks.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 2 P.M. in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Reverend Robert Adams and Reverend Tom Stewart officiating.

Frankie Lou [Hunter] Beard
March 26, 1925 ~ October 10, 2008


Frankie Lou Beard, a former Cushing resident most recently of Ardmore, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 in Ardmore, OK at the age of 83 years.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK and were held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2008 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Frank Hunter and LuVienie [Sample] Hunter, Frankie was born on March 26, 1925 in Cushing. She was reared and educated in Cushing and on December 25, 1941, Frankie was united in marriage to Hays Beard.

Frankie had lived all her life in Cushing before moving to Ardmore in 2000 to be near her son, Don. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, Don Beard and his wife Sondra of Lone Grove, OK; one daughter, Dathyl Feather and her husband Dana of Apache Junction, AZ; one sister, Jane Brown of Apache Junction, AZ; seven grandchildren, Mike Beard and his wife Carrie of Lebanon, IN, Lori Buchholz and her husband John of Lone Grove, OK, Kelli Makaron and her husband Chris of Cushing, OK, John Beard and his wife Amy of Troy, IL, Kevin Beard of Lone Grove, OK, Michelle Beard of Cushing, OK, and Dennis Dooley of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, her husband Hays, two sons, Thomas Beard and Leslie Beard, and three sisters, Cora Hulsey, Bertha Dooley, and Vera Hunter and one brother, Earnest Hunter preceded Frankie in death.
