Freda Fern Looney Nixon

Freda Fern Nixon passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 72. Freda was born on June 25, 1947, to John Coe and Viola June (Moton) Looney in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Freda was the second of nine children. Freda grew up in Oklahoma graduating from Reed High School in 1965. During her high school years, she met her soulmate, Richard DeWayne Nixon. The two of them joined in marriage on May 29, 1965. Together they had three children; Donna, John and Dale. Freda will be remembered by everyone that knew her for her smile. She always had a smile, lighting up her face. She loved to work in her flower garden and grew many roses. She also spent many hours at her sewing machine. Making quilts and clothing for her children. She was a very crafty person. She loved to bowl and was very good at it. She even accomplished a perfect of game of 300! Freda's sense of humor was remarkable. She loved to give her husband a hard time. Their relationship was stronger than any other. The love Freda had for her husband was a wonderful example for anyone that knew them. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; Richard of Fairfax, daughter; Donna Nixon and husband Lloyd Pirtle of Oklahoma City, son; Dale and his wife Trula of Carney, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Jeremy and wife Stephanie Pirtle, Ashley and husband Aaron Nelson, Tyler Pirtle, Brandy and husband Juan Hernandez, Corey Nixon and Samantha and husband Erik Reyes, great grandchildren; Ivy Pirtle, Gracie Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Jr., Maria Hernandez, Emiliano Hernandez, Bella Reyes, and one more due in February for the Hernandez's, siblings; Donna Lopez, Ronnie Looney, Wade Looney, Dean Brien, Darryl Looney and Jimmy Looney, and a host of nieces and nephews. Freda was preceded in death by her son; John DeWayne, brother; Johnnie Looney, sister; Christine Terry and her parents; John and Viola Looney. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, from 6-8pm at Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home, 201 N 4th St, Fairfax, Oklahoma. Freda will be honored with a graveside service on Wednesday, October 2, at the Riverside Cemetery in Ralston. The service will begin at 2pm with Brother Lewis Bernard presiding.
