Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma

Wright's Cemetery is located on NE 63rd St. 0.5 mile east of the intersection of NE 63rd St. and N. Sooner Rd. in NE Oklahoma City. From downtown Oklahoma City, take I-35 north to NE 63rd St. {exit 132B}. When taking this exit, you will be on Bryant Ave. Continue straight ahead for approximately 0.3 to 0.4 mile to NE 63rd St. {traffic light}. Turn right {east} and go 2.5 miles. The cemetery will be on the right {south} side of the road. Across the street is the intersection of NE 63rd and St. Bernard Street.

A Quit Claim Deed, recorded in Deed Book 7, p. 78, was signed and filed April 16, 1896 from William S. Wright and Eliza G. Wright in Oklahoma County, Territory of Oklahoma to Trustees of the Wright's Graveyard and successors. The land is described in the deed as, "One acre of land 14 rods each way - - containing in all 196 rods, in square form - being in NW corner of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 9, township 12, range 2W." There are 160 square rods in one acre; therefore this property is closer to 1.23 acres. This parcel or piece of land is to be used for a public burying ground for the dead. {Information obtained from OK County Cemetery Index - compiled by OK County HCE Genealogy Group, page 141.}

If you have family buried in this cemetery and would like to add their information, an obit, tombstone photo, funeral home record or memorial card to this website, please send area coordinator an e-mail.
