Funeral services for Mrs. Verna Bernice York, 71, will be held Fri., Jan 26, at 10 a.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka, with Rev. Wayne Swinford officiating. She died Sat., Jan 20, at Miami, Arizona.
Mrs. York was born at Okfuskee County on May 21, 1918.
She was the daughter of Benjamin H and Dessa (Davis) Childers. She married Luther Everett York at Miami, Arizona. Mrs. York moved from Oklahoma to Arizona in 1970 and had been a resident there ever since. She was a member of th Baptist Church and was preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Luther York, of the home in Miami Arizona; one son Everett lee York, Miami, Arizona; one sister Mrs. Gary Turbeville, Okemah; two grandchildren and one great grand-daughter.
Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Weleetka, under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
