Submitted by Ann Weber

SMITH-GALLO FUNERAL HOME
GUTHRIE, LOGAN CO, OK
(permission granted)

Myrna Hall, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 17, 2015. She was born August 2, 1927, in Howells, Nebraska, to John Henry and Leola Bristol.

Myrna was married on February 1, 1950 to Alva Dean Hall, in Perry, Oklahoma. After the birth of their first daughter and Dean’s return from military service in Korea, they settled in Billings, Oklahoma. While there, two more daughters were born. They were then transferred to Enid, Oklahoma where a son was born into the family. They raised their family in Enid and lived there for 52 years. During her lifetime, Myrna worked off and on as a nurses aid, she babysat, and even made wedding cakes. After her family was grown, she worked as a cook in the Longfellow Jr. High cafeteria for 23 years until her retirement. They moved to Crescent, Oklahoma in 2010 to be near their youngest daughter. Myrna was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Enid. She loved reading, knitting, crafting, and sewing, but her greatest love was cooking and baking for family and friends. Her giving heart and beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dean, three brothers, Arlen Bristol, David Bristol, and Eldon Bristol, and one daughter Laurene Allen.

She is survived by three children, Deana Vaughn and husband Steven of Brentwood, Tennessee, Russell Hall and wife Mindy of Enid, Jennifer Mize and husband Ron of Crescent. Myrna had seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 21st at Zion Lutheran Church in Guthrie. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Sumner Cemetery near Perry.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
