Rupert C. Dailey, Eagle Clan and oldest member of the Otoe Tribe, passed away at his residence on the morning of Friday, September 8, 2023 at the age of 96.
 

He was born on December 23, 1926 to Dewey and Susie (Caleb) Dailey in Red Rock, Oklahoma. He attended school at Chilocco Indian School and worked briefly as a printer in Stillwater. He worked mainly as a ranch and farm hand on the family allotment. He attended Pastor Jimmy's Otoe Baptist Church in Red Rock.
 

Rupert never married but was a kind friend and relative to many.
 

Those left behind to cherish Rupert's memory are his only brother, Leon of Pennsylvania.
 

Rupert was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Susie; sisters Cecile and Madonna; brothers Dewey, Calvin, Antoine, and twin infant brothers.
 

Pastor Jimmy Kenner will officiate services on Monday, September 11, 2023, 2 p.m. at the Otoe Tribal Complex with burial to follow at the Otoe Tribal Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Emmitt Hall, Theodore Hall, Blaine Hall, Allen Tonips, Terrance Hall, and Richard Van Dyke.
