GK Bassett longtime Red Rock resident passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his home in Red Rock. He was 74 years of age. GK was born September 26, 1944 in Pawnee, OK to Joe and Genevieve Littlecrow Bassett. 
 
Traditional Otoe Missouria services will follow the Noon feast and giveaway Saturday, November 17, 2018 in the Otoe Missouria Tribal Cemetery with his lifelong friend Mr. Don Childs officiating. Arrangements were under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.
 
GK grew up in the Red Rock and Marland area. He served a tour of duty with United States Air Force and he was honorable discharged in 1963. He later attended NOC in Tonkawa and received his associate degree in 1983. He then transferred to Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1986. GK enjoyed attending Frontier basketball games and watching PBR whenever he could.
 
Survivors include: Lifelong friend Don Childs of Sand Springs, OK, 3 sisters: Martha Koshiway of Del City, OK, Mary Howry and Linda Francis both of Red Rock, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
GK was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Paul B. Bassett and Herman J. Bassett, 2 sisters: Victoria M. Kent and Margaret A. Haley.
