Sam Irving
February 8, 1939 ~ August 14, 2016

Funeral services for Sam Irving, 77, of Braggs, OK, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK, with Reverend Bob Burgess officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff McElhaney, Ronnie White, Derek Irving, Edmond Jones, J. J. Taylor, and Barry Stanfill. Honorary pallbearer will be Jesse Irving. Burial will be under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.

Sam was born February 8, 1939 in Braggs, OK, the son of Grover and Lowell Lois (Estes) Irving and died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Braggs, OK. He entered the Navy at the age of 17 and served 6 years. He then served 11 years in the National Guard and Army Reserve. Sam worked for Muskogee County District 1 for 30 years. Sam loved fishing and being with Jesse, the greatest joy of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Willimay; sons, Roy Riving and wife, Polly, Tony Irving and wife, Elsa; grandson, Jesse, all of Braggs; brothers, David Irving, of Braggs, Wesley Irving and wife, Sharon, of Muldrow, OK; sisters, Nelda Shoemake of Tulsa, Ruth Harris of Tulsa, Janice Barker and husband, Bob, of Stillwater, Susan Gilliland and husband, Marvin, of Fort Gibson; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Lowell Irving; brother, Kenneth Irving; and sister, Betty Champagne.
