The Hawkins Family cemetery is located in the area of the old Nebo community.
It is said that there are 12 graves in this Indian family cemetery.
"Mr. Lafayette Owens, a daughter of Scotland and Rebecca Hawkins, was interviewed by a WPA writer on May 17, 1937, in Sulphur, OK, where she was quoted as saying: "Father and Mother are buried at Nebo, south of Sulphur, in a family graveyard. There are twelve graves. We do not have any tombstones. There are small rock houses built over their graves."
There appears to be no one who knows where this cemetery is located now days. Following are the only known interments.
